Perhaps it is not so much the story as the telling of the tale. While the story is certainly topical and the subject matter extremely relevant... the ending is not entirely a surprise.
What is very refreshing is the cinematography, direction and performance. The choices made in the art direction are very strong as well.... the retro locations, wardrobe and television drive home the point that this story would have been just as relevant 30 years ago... or even 40...
An important tale, beautifully told. (
